Mugamoodi tidbits

Posted: 30 Aug 2012 03:10 AM PDT

Its said that Jiiva's mask was made in a specially designed vaccuum chamber to get the perfect leathery fit and a smooth outer finish and the suit originally weighed 8 kilos but was brought down to 4 kilos by repeated experimentation.

However it was still a nightmare for Jiiva to act with the suit on because of the non-breathable silicone that heats up the body within minutes. Also, the limited flexibility of the silicone rubber made it difficult for nimble action sequences demanded by the kung-fu based fight scenes. Remember Mugamoodi has some high voltage action scenes?

Mugamoodi is a superhero film aimed at family audiences, boasting off a clean script. Its about the superhero within oneself and Pooja Hegde is said to play a television news reporter in it. Nasser will be seen in a pivotal role whilst music is by K.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Mugamoodi releases big tomorrow (August 31).

Actor Sibiraj’s new role!

Posted: 30 Aug 2012 03:08 AM PDT

Sibiraj is all set to turn producer soon, and the actor says he is planning to act in his first production.
Sibi says, "After Naanayam, I was offered several good scripts, but we had issues with finding the right producer. And if we had a good producer, the scripts that they offered were not worth the trouble. That's when I decided to produce my own ventures."

He adds, "I'm currently listening to a couple of scripts, and will zero in on one. I'm also open to working with debut director who have non-cliched ideas. I don't want budget to be a hindrance when we make a film."
Interestingly, Sibi's father Sathyaraj had produced his earlier venture, Lee, which was directed by Prabhu Solomon. Sibi informs, "Chances are, I will continue producing films under the same banner."

Actor Ganesh Venkatraman excited about Chandra

Posted: 30 Aug 2012 02:54 AM PDT

Ganesh Venkatraman seems to be in full work mode. Post his well-received performance in Panithuli, he has moved on to the bilingual film Chandra in which he stars opposite Shriya Saran. In the film, he plays the character of a handsome young prince.

Sources close to the unit say that the makers wanted to put use Ganesh's good looks to their character's advantage, and shaped him like a Mills and Boons alpha male hero; typically handsome, flirtatious, intense and extremely desirable.
While Shriya plays a last-generation princess brought up in a constrained and traditional atmosphere, Ganesh plays a broad-minded prince brought up in America.
Directed by Roopa Iyer, it has also has Kannada actor Prem in the lead and Vivek and Sukanya playing key roles.
"People appreciated my screen presence in Panithuli and there have been many offers coming my way. I am being extremely selective about the scripts and the characters that I choose," explains Ganesh.
